A Rose for Sadness

fractal-2035686_1920.jpg

lucidity of mother moon was hollow in fractured eyes
punished for constructing rust colored rainbows
tears slid on swollen cheeks carving a metaplastic frown
little porcelain doll imbued in a paragon
of perfect melancholy madness — stars reticent
inwardly, a paroxysm of rage and burning torment
held pregnant clouds in slow motion, begging for respite

I, a simple poet, watched without words
as she carved her name upon barren bloody earth
vanishing like a ghost in obsidian walls of night
~*~
the sound — beautiful misery — how it overtakes me
holding out a single rose, find myself drifting along
