On day 2 of my “December Daydreams” collection, “Tsunami” is inspired from River Dixon’s site name, “The Stories In Between”, his poem entitled “Finally”, and how I relate to both of them in my own story. If you’re unfamiliar with River’s amazing work, you should visit him soon.

Poem: “Finally”
December Daydreams 02 – “Tsunami”
As bleak skies distended,
the air smelled of salt and thunderstorms,
her harsh words weighed me down,
she swept in like a tsunami,
tried to drown me in a jealous sea,
left me hungry and bleeding,
trapped by tides, and the “in-betweens”.
Ran on dry land for what seemed forever,
searched dead wreckage of deserted dreams,
finally arrived to calm blue waters
to discover – a better version of me.

Great work on this. The new self, emerging from the aftermath of the storm.
